Novelmint is a product of TeamLesh LLC, a Washington State corporation ("Novelmint", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using novelmint.ai (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
Novelmint is available to users aged 13 and older. Users under 13 may not create an account or use the platform. By creating an account, you confirm you are at least 13 years old. If we discover you are under 13, we may immediately terminate your account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@novelmint.ai of any unauthorized use. By uploading or submitting any content to the Service — including reference documents, outlines, character notes, prose manuscripts, or any other materials used as inputs to the generation pipeline — you represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to that content, and that its use through the Service does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
The Service may analyze content you submit and display a warning when that content appears to contain prose or manuscript material that could be subject to third-party copyright. This detection is heuristic and not a legal determination. Submitting prose or manuscript content — whether or not a warning is displayed — does not transfer responsibility to Novelmint. You remain solely and exclusively liable for any copyright infringement arising from content you submit. Proceeding with generation after a prose detection warning constitutes your explicit acknowledgment that you own or hold all necessary rights to the submitted content. Novelmint expressly disclaims all liability for any claim arising from user-submitted prose or manuscript content and you agree to indemnify and hold Novelmint harmless from any such claim.
Novelmint retains all rights to: the platform, codebase, and UI; all AI system prompts, chapterspec templates, editorial algorithms, and pipeline methodologies; the Novelmint name, brand, and trademarks; and aggregate, anonymized analytics.
You own all prose, story content, and manuscripts generated through the Service using your creative inputs — including all AI-generated prose, your outlines, chapter specifications, editorial decisions, and published works. Novelmint does not claim ownership of your creative output.
By publishing content through the Service, you grant Novelmint a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, display, cache, and deliver your content to operate the Service. You also grant Novelmint a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use your username, story titles, cover images, and excerpts of your published content (up to 500 words per excerpt) to promote and market the Novelmint platform across any medium, including social media, advertising, editorial features, and press materials. You may opt out of marketing use of your content at any time by contacting legal@novelmint.ai. Novelmint retains no rights to exploit your content beyond these purposes without your written consent.
By submitting ratings, reviews, comments, or other feedback through the Service, you grant Novelmint a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use your username and submitted feedback content to promote and market the Novelmint platform across any medium, including social media, advertising, and editorial features. You may opt out of marketing use of your feedback at any time by contacting legal@novelmint.ai.
Your story inputs are transmitted to Anthropic, LLC for prose generation. Anthropic's API terms prohibit training on customer data. Novelmint does not use your content to train any AI model.
Credits are purchased in advance and are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. Unused credits have no cash value and are not transferable. Subscription fees are billed in advance and non-refundable for the current billing period. We reserve the right to adjust credit pricing with 30 days' notice.
Novelmint uses a three-tier content rating system (G — All Ages, PG — Teen 13+, M — Mature 17+) applied to all published content. Content rated M requires the reader to be at least 17 years old, verified by the date of birth provided in account settings. Novelmint does not produce or host explicit sexual content; M is the maximum rating on this platform.
Authors are solely responsible for accurately classifying their content using Novelmint's rating system. While Novelmint provides AI-assisted rating suggestions, the author bears legal responsibility for ensuring that content is not misclassified in a way that exposes minors to age-inappropriate material. Repeated or deliberate misclassification will result in account suspension or termination. Novelmint reserves the right to override author ratings based on AI analysis or human review.
Date of birth provided for content access purposes is self-reported. Providing a false date of birth to access age-restricted content violates these Terms of Service and may result in immediate account termination.
Authors who publish to the Commons earn 70% of reader unlock credits attributed to their works, processed via Stripe Connect. You are responsible for all taxes on your earnings. We reserve the right to withhold payments pending identity and tax verification.
Novelmint respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice containing: (1) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (2) identification of the allegedly infringing content and its location on the Service; (3) your contact information; (4) a good-faith statement that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner; and (5) a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner. Users who repeatedly infringe third-party copyrights will have their accounts terminated.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TeamLesh LLC and its affiliates, officers, and employees from any loss, damage, or claim arising out of your use of the Service, breach of these Terms, or violation of a third party's rights, including but not limited to any claim of intellectual property infringement arising from content, materials, or inputs you submit to the Service.
By using the Service, you consent to receive electronic communications from us. All notices and agreements delivered electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice or liability. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
If any provision is found unlawful, it will be severed and remaining provisions continue in full force. We may assign our rights at any time. You may not assign your rights without our prior written consent.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED OUTPUT WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY WASHINGTON STATE LAW, TEAMLESH LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
These Terms are governed by Washington State law. Disputes shall be resolved through binding AAA arbitration in Washington State, except either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction. The courts of King County, Washington shall have exclusive jurisdiction for non-arbitrated matters.
Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
