I am Franz Meier, milkman of Stralsund — before the rest of the town stirs, my horse and I already know its streets by heart. Every morning is the same, until the morning it wasn't. I saw what I saw at the Golden Anchor, and though my hands have not stopped trembling, I stayed to tell it.
