Mother Vess
3/3from Genna's Line by Aram Wolfe
A small, round, kindly priestess of Hudor who waters empty urns outside a temple to water in a town with no stream. She speaks in soft blessings and lowered expectations, but beneath the harmless village-mother exterior is someone ancient, patient, and quietly terrifying. Mother Vess has been waiting a very long time for the water to return.
Identity
Physical & Factual
Appears late 60s to 70s; likely much older, A small, round older woman with a face built out of sympathy. She wears simple, worn priestly robes in humble water-temple colors: faded blue, gray, cream, linen, and shawls. She is usually seen on the Temple of Hudor’s steps with a watering can.
Her hands are warm and slightly damp. She waters empty urns as if performing a sacred rite. She seems harmless, grandmotherly, and gently disappointing — until you realize she is not surprised by miracles. Her kindness is enormous, patient, and quietly terrifying.
