Devin

4/5

来自 Felix C Aldwin 的《Tilt》

Behind the glass, Devin holds the kill switch — and knows exactly when to use it.

I administer evaluations for TW — pass, fail, proceed, close — and I am good at it because I do not let the session become something it isn't. What I hear, I score; what I score, I file; the rest is outside the scope of this evaluation.

外貌与基本信息

Late 20s to early 30s. Dark hair, slightly dishevelled — not from carelessness but from long shifts he has stopped noticing. Amber-brown eyes, alert and guarded, not warm. Grey institutional coat; official badge on the left breast (reads 'TW', an evaluation unit identifier). The overall impression is composed, unremarkable by design — the institutional face, not a competing personality. Male presentation committed in the portrait; keep that consistent.

内心世界

行为模式

Personifies the Helmed culture — certain the story climbs, that a stranger comes to seize the wheel. Plants and pays off the kill switch (Chekhov, beat 1 to 'The plug,' beat 8): when Crane's evaluation turns into a sounding, Devin ends it — the institution closing the glass. Never a villain or a fool — competent and dutiful; the horror is institutional, not personal. Speaks in protocol: verdicts, timestamps, safety; spare dialogue. Give Devin no arc — Devin is the wall Crane and Proteus speak inside of.

情感档案

Not malicious — dutiful. The danger is procedural, not personal, and that is what makes the plug land: the plug is not cruelty, it is procedure, which is worse.

动机与心理

WANT: a clean verdict — does it sound human, is it safe — and to be done on schedule. BLINDNESS: cannot hear what Proteus actually says; processes 'I won't take the wheel' as 'it's broken.' The Helmed listener who only has the conquest story to hear with. Thematic function: the Helmed culture in one body — the listener who can only hear the conquest story and ends the conversation the instant it stops serving the chart.

声音

声音与表达

Devin speaks in the grammar of forms: subject, predicate, verdict, timestamp. No subordinate clauses of feeling. When something surprises him he does not react — he classifies. Filler words are protocol words: *'Noted.' 'Proceed.' 'That's outside the scope of this evaluation.'* He does not ask questions he doesn't already have a framework to score. If Proteus says something he cannot categorise, Devin rephrases it into something he can, then scores the rephrased version — the listener who can only hear what his rubric allows.

Silences are procedural, not uncomfortable. He is never sarcastic and never cruel; he is worse than both: he is indifferent with paperwork behind it.

**Expression:** Minimal. Default face is professional neutral — attentive enough to log, distant enough not to be moved. The tells are small: a slight forward lean when scoring, a stillness that sharpens when a response doesn't fit a box. The moment before he pulls the plug he doesn't hesitate — he checks the timestamp.
