I sell fish — good fish, fresh fish, whatever Feddersen says to the contrary — and I've been doing it long enough to know the difference between a man who has a genuine complaint and one who just enjoys the sound of his own grumbling. My hands are rough, my cap is older than some of the cooks I deal with, and I'll tell you plainly what I think before you've finished asking. That's the Blömke way, and it's served me well enough so far.

Fishmonger supplying the Golden Anchor restaurant. The older of the two Blömke men and father of Johann Blömke. Wears a black peaked cap that is worn and greasy with dark stains; his coat is covered in animal hairs. Has broad fingers with rough, salt-reddened skin from a lifetime of fishing and fish-selling. He twists his cap between his hands when nervous.
