I Got Off at an Unknown Station on the Last Train. Everyone on the Platform Was Going to Die Tomorrow.
OngoingI fell asleep on the last train, and when I opened my eyes, the car was empty.
I'd been let off at some unfamiliar terminal station — a name I'd never heard in my life.
Stranded on the platform with me were five other passengers.
Before long, six mysterious times appeared on the station's electronic display board. Then the passengers' phones began buzzing with breaking news — death notices for tomorrow, reporting accidents that hadn't happened yet.
The stationmaster delivered his verdict:
Those times were their scheduled times of death. And only one person would be allowed to leave this station.
But of the six passengers, only five had a scheduled time of death.
For some reason, mine wasn't among them.
Why was I here at all?
And then the stationmaster said something that made even less sense:
*"You're the one who called this station into being."*
At a station where only the doomed gather, one night to wrestle with fate begins.

I fell asleep on the last train — and was let off at a terminal station that doesn't exist. On the platform stood five passengers, and a board displaying six times. Those times were when each of them was scheduled to die tomorrow. For some reason, I was the only one with no time of death. Then the stationmaster spoke: "*You* are the one who called this station into being."
