In the Construcción, a colossal system administers billions of human realities with a single priority: preserving order. When Instance 7743, an ordinary employee, begins to undergo an inexplicable physical transformation, the case lands on the desk of a Supervisor whose job is to evaluate deviations with absolute administrative detachment. While the man remains isolated in his room and his family watches helplessly from the other side of the door, the system searches for the most efficient way to eliminate an anomaly that defies all classification. In a universe where consciousness holds no value and only stability and metrics matter, a bureaucratic decision will set in motion a protocol designed to erase every trace of the incident.

In a working-class neighborhood in Mexico's Bajío region, a group of children discovers the body of the "old man of the dogs" — an enigmatic beggar who lives under a bridge, surrounded by stray animals. They alert the local parish priest, who comes to collect the body. But this wretched old man was not always a beggar. Decades earlier, he was a Mexican military officer who made his superiors uncomfortable — so they shipped him off as an attaché to Soviet forces during the fall of Berlin in 1945, hoping the chaos would finish him.
