The Woman Who Sold Thursday

Hesta Vale can sell almost any weather, provided she can hear the bid. When an eighty-three-year-old Thursday arrives at the Weather Exchange, she expects the sale of her career. But the day must be released over the whole town, its seal is failing, and the warning bells are slipping beyond her hearing. To deliver what she has promised, Bellwether’s most formidable auctioneer will have to do something she has avoided for thirty-four years: let someone else take the hammer.
