Fakhar lived in his uncle's home after his parents divorced, and now he is mature enough to ask what was done to him: being left alone as a child. Fakhar knew about the physique of his parents from his uncle, and since he was left at his door, he did not see his parents then, and hardly remembered their faces. When he came of age, he visited his parents' home, but the door was locked, and no one answered. He went from door to door in the village but found no trace of his parents.
Late in the evening, when he was at the end of the village, entering the jungle, he met an old man, and he asked him, "Did you know Zulfiqar, a farmer who used to carry wood from this jungle?" The old man, thoughtful and slow to hear, answered, "I know a man named Zulfiqar, who used to go on this path once a week, but He had not traveled on this path for two or three months." Fakhar wasn't sure whether the man was his father, so he asked, "The man is bald and cannot walk properly?" The old man nodded his head. "What is there on the other side of the jungle? " asked Fakhar. "A new village, new people, new customs, new hope", answered the old man. Zulfiqar looked surprised and asked in a happy tone, "Do you remember my father walking inside the jungle and not coming back?" "Well, I cannot say for sure, but all I can say is that last time he walked on this path in the late afternoon, and I do not remember if he came back on the same path, and there is no other path; whoever steps in the jungle gets back on the same path".
Fakhar, confused and yet excited, decided to visit the other side of the jungle and see his father there. Since it was late evening, and it was not safe to travel at night in the jungle, he decided to start his journey at early dawn. He asked the old man for shelter, and he agreed to provide space. When they were walking, Fakhar asked him, "Why do parents ditch their children?" The old man stopped walking, sighed, looked towards him, and said, "Nobody wants to ditch their children. They leave their children either out of fear of responsibility or fear of raising the child in their image." Fakhar reflected on his words, recalled that his uncle did not talk harshly about his parents; neither were his parents that poor. When the noise in Fakhar's head calmed, he asked, "Then why do people get married and have children?"
"Well, that is a good question. People get married because they need to have their own family. As time goes by, friendship dies; our circle shrinks, and friends get busy with their own lives. What we enjoyed once, we no longer enjoy. In the midst of loneliness, humans tend to get closer to the ones they love and trust, and family is what a man needs," said the old man.
The boy reflected on the old man's words for a while, and his anger toward his father was subdued to some extent. As he realized that he was, after all, raised by his uncle, after a brief pause, the boy answered and said, "Well, they also ditch or leave their children behind."
After repeating the same thought, the old man understood that he was abandoned by his father, and he was not happy about it.
The old man, holding the boy's hand, answered in a strong tone, "Not everyone has the same destiny; everyone carries their own scars and stories." As the boy heard 'destiny', he asked, "What is destiny?"
The old man, clearing his throat, answered, "Destiny is a mysterious path on which a man travels. On the path, overall, he may hold a part of it, and will die happily when death arrives."
The boy did not understand the man's words, so he asked, "What do you mean by mysterious?"
"Well, you were when you left home; you had never thought we would meet. Also, you are still not sure if you will meet your father; that is a mystery, which scares all of us, but also makes us excited for great things. It is a mystery that compels us and inspires us to achieve greatness."
