An ancient, invisible elemental stands beside him, reading the emotions of everyone who approaches. She whispers what she feels. The world calls it divine perception.
A man walks twenty nights to find them, carrying a faith so complete it frightens her. He offers to be the angel's voice. The angel, who never wanted followers, says yes.
That is how a religion begins. Not with revelation. With exhaustion, sincerity, and a silence someone else decided to fill.
The Listener is the first book of the Fallen trilogy, a literary fantasy about the birth of a faith told by the one witness who saw everything and could not decide whether to stop it.
