Read it in your own language
Last checked against the product October 2, 2026
Most fiction never gets translated, because translating a book only pays if enough people will buy it. Novelmint works a chapter at a time instead. Each chapter can be read in any of 21 languages. Where a translation already exists, you read it. Where it does not, you can ask for it, and once it is made that chapter stays in that language for every reader who comes after you, at no charge to them.
Key takeaways
- Chapters on Novelmint can be read in 21 languages.

- Translations are made by AI and take a few minutes. You are told when one is ready.
What it does
How it works
Per chapter
Languages are tracked chapter by chapter, so the chapter list tells you exactly what you can read now.
Already translated
Authors can translate their own chapters, and other readers may have requested yours already. Those are ready to read.
Translate it yourself
Open Translate / Listen on a chapter, pick a language, and confirm the cost. It is made while you carry on reading.
Free for the next reader
You pay for a translation once, for everyone. The next person to want that chapter in that language pays nothing extra for it.
Kept current
If the author revises a chapter, its translation is marked as reflecting the earlier version, and can be refreshed.
The original stays in view
A book’s original title is shown first, with the translated title underneath.
How to use it
Reading a chapter in another language
Choose your language
The site itself is available in the same 21 languages.
Open a book’s chapter list
Each chapter shows the languages it can be read in.
Read it, or request it
If your language is there, read. If not, open Translate / Listen and ask for it.
Wait a few minutes
You get a notification when it is ready. You can keep reading in the original meanwhile.
If you are an author
Your book can travel without you paying for it
You can translate your own chapters, and you can also leave it to demand: a reader who wants a chapter in their language can fund it, and it stays available in that language from then on. You can write your own translation of the title for any language.

Frequently asked
- Which languages can I read in?
- Twenty-one. A chapter’s row in the book’s chapter list shows which of them it is available in right now.
- What if a chapter is not in my language?
- You can have it translated. Open Translate / Listen on the chapter, choose the language, and confirm the cost shown. It takes a few minutes, and you are notified when it is ready.
- Do I pay every time I read a translated chapter?
- No. A translation is paid for once, by whoever requests it first. After that the chapter is free in that language for every reader. Unlocking the chapter itself is separate.
- Are the translations done by people?
- No. They are made by AI. An author can also write their own translation of a book’s title.
- What if the translation is out of date?
- If the author has revised the chapter since it was translated, a notice says so, and the translation can be refreshed.
What this page does not claim
- Translations are machine translations. They are not reviewed by a human translator.
- Not every chapter is available in every language yet. Availability is shown per chapter.
- A translated chapter follows the same rules as any other: chapter one is free, and later chapters are unlocked.
