The cast has pages of its own
Last checked against the product October 2, 2026
Readers have always wanted more of a character than the book hands over. On Novelmint an author can publish a character to their readers. That character gets a page: a portrait, a few words in their own voice, where they live, and the books they turn up in. Adult readers can go one step further and talk to them. The character answers in voice, and knows only what the author chose to share, so the conversation cannot spoil the book.
Key takeaways
- An author can publish a character to readers, which gives that character a public page.
- A character page shows a portrait, an introduction in the character’s own voice, where they live, and the books they appear in.
- Readers aged 18 and over can chat with a published character. The character answers in voice.
- A character knows only what the author chose to expose, so the chat stays free of spoilers.
- Chat needs a signed-in account and uses credits, or the chat included in a plan.
What it does
What you find
A page per character
Reached from the cast strip on a book’s page. Move from one character to the next without going back.
In their own words
Each page carries a short first-person introduction, written to sound like them.
Where they belong
Their home, and every book in the series they appear in.
A conversation
Say hello and the character replies as themselves. They open with a line of their own.
More than one at a time
Bring several characters from a series into the same scene, in a setting from the book.
No spoilers
The author decides what a character knows in chat. Twists that have not been published stay out of it.

If you are an author
You decide what your characters know
A character reaches readers only when you publish them. You choose which parts of their bible they can draw on, write or approve their introduction and first line, and can unpublish at any time. Your working notes stay private.

Frequently asked
- Can I chat with the characters in a book?
- If the author has published the character for chat, and you are 18 or over, yes. The character replies in their own voice, working from what the author chose to share about them.
- Will a character spoil the story?
- They are built not to. A character in chat knows only the parts of their background the author exposed, and the author’s unpublished notes are never used.
- Why is character chat for adults only?
- Open-ended conversation with an AI character is restricted to readers aged 18 and over. You are asked for your date of birth before your first chat.
- Does character chat cost anything?
- It uses credits. Plans include a number of chats each month, and a usage indicator shows where you stand.
- Does every book have character pages?
- No. A character has a page only if the author published them.
What this page does not claim
- A character in chat is an AI speaking in that character’s voice. It is not the author.
- What a character says in chat is not part of the story.
- Not every book or character is available. It is the author’s choice.
- Character chat is not available to readers under 18.
